Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to APAC Technical Director, the Technical manager is responsible for managing a team of application engineers, chemists and technicians to execute and deliver on R&D and engineering projects for product development and commercialization, including R&D lab work, process optimization and scale-upbeta site test and trial, technical support and trouble-shooting, etc.
  • Work closely with our global R&D and product development team to transfer new products, processes and new equipment designs to Asia, and support customers to resolve technical issues.
  • Interact with various function teams in Asia including Marketing, Sales, lab and QC staff across Asia to provide technical support to our growing business in the market segment of PCB, lead frame, connector, IC and semiconductor, wafer-level-packaging and LED.   
  • Lead on regional R&D projects to develop new products to meet customer and market needs in Asia.  
  • Conduct technical training to internal staff and customers.  
  • Propose improvement plan for lab instrument and equipment.
  • Oversee lab safety and continued improvement of work practices
  • Develop collaborations with university, research institution and test labs across Asia

 

Requirements: 

  • University degree or above in Chemistry, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering
  • Practical experience in electroplating and material surface finishing is highly desired.  In-depth knowledge of Organic Chemistry, Organometallics, Electro-Chemistry, Metallurgy or Polymer Materials will be an additional advantage.   
  • At least 5 years of work experience in an industrial or applied research environment. 
  • A self-starter, who is hands-on, motivated, proactive, seeking team work and willing to take challenges and drive for result.
  • Proven management and leadership skills. Outstanding interpersonal, language and communication skills. 
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight timelines.
  • Able and willing to work under pressure and meet tight project timelines. 
  • A self-starter, who is independent and motivated.
