Responsibilities: 

• Prepare tender pricing and cost estimate documents
• Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client
• Prepare cost estimation, budget forecast, tenders, contracts administration and sub-letting documents
• Take-off measurements from tender drawings and documents
• Request and evaluate quotations from sub-contractors, suppliers and vendors
• Undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work
• Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
• Performing risk and value management and cost control
• Advising on procurement strategy
• Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
• Preparing and analysing costings for tenders
• Pre-qualify sub-contractors, vendors and suppliers and establishing a data-base
• Allocating work to subcontractors
• Providing advice on contractual claims
• Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
• Evaluate and prepare variation orders, interim payments, payment claims and final accounts
• Attending inspections and / or visits on construction sites and clients properties as required
• Manage and produce accurate formal reports in accordance with project and business timetable
• Monitor all commercial information in relation to projects including, sub-contractors, suppliers and vendors, thus ensuring budgets are adhered to
• Provide advice to project staff on commercial and contractual matters including reviewing and drafting of correspondence
• Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
• Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations
• Performing various quantity surveying duties designated 

Requirements / Qualifications 

• Degree in Building / Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• 8-10 years experience in cost estimating, tendering and quantity surveying
• Minimum 5 years experience working for a Main Contractor
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
• Commercially astute, numerate and risk averse
• Multi tasking, self motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work
• Be able to provide both summarised and detailed reports
• IT Literate
• Communicate regularly with project staff, sub-contractors, suppliers and vendors to ensure commercial controls are in please, understood and followed at all times
• A good command of spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin (Mandarin is an advantage but not essential)
• A good command of written English and Chinese
• “Can do” attitude to work
