Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the development process of company product lines as assigned
  • Creates the specifications for the products, publishes, and maintains all records, style files, and samples associated with the product and related programs
  • Plans and tracks the development schedule of all products to ensure a timely completion following the predetermined product development calendar. Responsible for the product lifestyle management from concept to production
  • Ensures both the technical superiority and the product quality/integrity of all product falling under their responsibilities
  • Develops products that meet or exceed predetermined gross margin targets.
  • Partners with Sourcing/Product Acquisition to ensure the superior quality and timely delivery of sales samples each season
  • Partners with Sourcing & Design to select new fabrications and production processes that go hand in hand with developing innovative and technically superior products each season
  • Interacts with internal and external contacts to distribute product technical details and assure the accuracy, legality, and integrity of all product performance claims.

 

 

Requirements:

  • University degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 4 years of successful and progressive experience in Product Development
  • Successful project management skills and knowledge of the product cycle and product development timelines. Ability to adhere to calendar timelines with flexibility based on business needs.
  • Must have a track record in assisting in the development of innovative designs, procedures, implementing processes and getting things done on time
  • Good Knowledge of specifications management, product costing, and size/fit/grading (as applicable)
  • Intermediate Computer Drawing skills for technical and construction detail sketches & related art using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with emphasis on MS Office software, WebPDM, Adobe and Specification Management programs
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
