Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the successful candidate is responsible for providing professional, timely, cost effective and practical legal advice in assisting the ARO management and Agency Network Management in Asia Region.

Responsibilities:

• Offer counsel on a variety of legal issues for the region including negotiate, write, and execute agreements and contracts;
• Work closely with other HO / Agency network counsels as a team to ensure proper compliance will all contractual obligations, laws of regulations;
• Advise executives within the company and work alongside Management in Agency Network - Asia;
• Manage legal risks in a timely and accurate manner on various projects and deadlines with all related parties in Asia; 
• Provide assistance to global joint ventures, strategic partnership deals, and group affiliate;
• Research unique legal issues impacting the Group by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions and codes;
• Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its affiliates within CMA CGM group;
• Perform pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights;
• Any other ad hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• Degree in Law discipline with 2 - 3 years’ Shipping/ Marine experience in reputable International law firm;
• Post graduate level (+3 years) in Law with a 2 years minimum experience in a similar regional level role;
• In-house working experience in Shipping/ Marine stream is an advantage;
• Good communicator, assertive, self-motivated, team player, able to handle multi-tasks, work independently and under pressure; 
• Available for on site trip in Asia;
• Excellent command of spoken and written English;
• French and Mandarin is a plus.
