Job Description

What You’ll Do (but not limited to):

  • Reporting to the Marketing Director for Asia Pacific, you will manage the OtterBox family of brands, including their use in all print communication, digital marketing, advertising, e-mail marketing campaigns, events, product launches and display materials within Greater China. 
  • Your direct reports will include 2 Marketing Coordinators and 1 Graphic Designer. 
  • Your Marketing colleagues consist of specialists in Marketing, Ecommerce, Digital Marketing, Social Media, and Graphic Design. 
  • Strategic sales team support to optimise key retail opportunities (including briefing for targeted retail design) to build consumer engagement/awareness at the point-of-purchase and drive unassisted sales. 
  • Channel marketing responsibility for the Greater China region. 
  • Work with key partners in the region to build collaborative relationships to gain support for the OtterBox brand.
  • Write and edit marketing and public relations related material (award applications, sell sheets, brochures, press releases, newsletters, blogs entries, case studies, creative writing pieces etc.). 
  • Work with our social media agency for China, monitoring the company’s presence on trending social media platforms in an effort to increase awareness of the OtterBox brand (including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram and YouTube). 
  • Monitor existing Greater China social media brand channels, assisting with fresh content, campaign planning and activation in order to engage existing and attract target consumers. 
  • Work with our Public Relations agencies in Greater China on all press conferences and media activities. 
  • Work closely with the APAC Web and Public Relations teams to ensure consistent messaging. 
  • Collaborate with and co-ordinate the work of external agencies providing clear design briefs and optimising marketing projects. 
  • Research marketing and brand building opportunities within Greater China, such as local events, sponsorship, promotional opportunities and tradeshows in order to increase the awareness of the OtterBox brand. 
  • Organise and co-ordinate events, promotional activities and trade show events. 
  • Plan and execute product launches, ensuring correct positioning of products within the market place to maximise sales. 
  • Support the sales teams with all sales and marketing initiatives.

What You’re Made of: Business acumen, strategic mind-set, creativity, decision making
capabilities, skilled in directing others, presentation skills, organisational skills, communication
skills, problem solving and project management.

What You Need (but not limited to):

  • Third level education in Marketing. 
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Greater China/International marketing with exposure to retail. 
  • Thorough understanding of a global CPG/FMCG industry and channel marketing, wireless technology or accessory market is desirable. 
  • Experience in implementing direct and indirect retail marketing strategies is essential. 
  • Experience in working with multiple brands simultaneously or a range of brands within one company brand umbrella/house of brands. 
  • Brand management expertise. 
  • Strong creative skills with an ‘eye’ for good design – experience in briefing for retail design is a plus. 
  • Experience in briefing graphic and web designers, while maintaining brand consistency to deliver strong, communicative marketing materials. 
  • Track record in building successful consumer engagement using social media platforms including blogging, photography, content creation and management of Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram etc., while keeping up to date with the latest social media trends.
  • Expertise in writing for web/creating written online content with SEO/SEM in mind is highly desirable. 
  • Experience in advertising content development/advertising and public relations is highly desirable. 
  • Experience in development and implementation of email marketing/direct marketing campaigns desirable. 
  • Ability to collaborate at all levels with both internal and external customers. 
  • Analytical skills and high levels of attention to detail. 
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and keep a positive, proactive attitude. 
  • Fluent written and oral Cantonese, Mandarin and English. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office® and ability to quickly learn new programs.
