The incumbent is responsible for supporting in financial planning and forecasting as well as providing financial insight and analysis to support strategic decision making in accordance with the Growth Markets’ needs in a timely and effective manner.
Main Responsibilities
- Support preparation of financial plans, forecasts and actuals results reporting for Global Enabling Functions in the Growth Markets; heavy emphasis on support of Technology Function.
- Consolidate and provide financial insight and analysis.
- Review monthly results and provide insightful analysis on them.
- Retrieve the actuals financial data, and use commercial knowledge of the business/GEF, feedback on any areas of inconsistency or policy misapplication. Supply accruals and provisions to ensure they properly reflect the commercial position of the business / GEF as well as Pearson's financial accounting policies.
- Work with project managers, update project & portfolio project financial status.
- Consistent and extensive collaboration within finance and across Pearson, including colleagues in Lines of Business, Geographies, country hub operations and centres of excellence organized at the Pearson level.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Degree in Finance/Business/Accounting
- At least 5 years relevant working experience, with regional finance experience is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in fluent English and Mandarin
- Strong commercial and analytical skills, ideally with experience on project accounting
- Working in a technology industry before is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work to meet deadline
