Summary Statement: Under the direction of the Manager, Applications and Service Engineering, the Applications Engineer II provides support to the Regional Sales Managers and the Distributors in the region for Company products in assigned market segments

Representative Duties:  

• Understand the buying process and customer behavior in the assigned market segments, develop and maintain good relationship with key accounts influencing the market
• Identify researches, evaluates and prioritizes market leads and opportunities for existing products in the assigned market segment and work closely with Regional Sales Managers to coordinate field support
• Develop a detailed knowledge of key accounts in the assigned market segment and maintain good relationship with Reseller System Designers and Installers to ensure their fullest support for Shure products
• Develop and execute education programs and presentations with Sales Management, Applications Engineering, and Marketing to increase awareness and understanding of the benefits of Company product categories by coordinating necessary training materials with the Marketing Communications department
• Provide product training to Associates in the Asia Business Unit for the assigned market segment and Pre and Post Sales technical support to distributors and customers
• Collect customer feedback and provides requirements on new product development in the assigned market segment to the Marketing department, develop value proposition for Company products
• Monitor and report on competitive activity, both from a product and market development standpoint
• Provide Answer inquiries from customers from Internet, dial in or email enquiries
• Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:  

• Bachelor’s degree or above preferably in Electrical Engineering, Electro-acoustic, Physics or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience using skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a comprehensive technical knowledge of audio principles and products
• Extensive knowledge of microphones, audio products and RF transmission technologies, preferred with field experience in Broadcast Station, or A/V installation
• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions for difficult assignments and of diverse scope
• Able to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data or situations requires evaluation of identifiable factors
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Putonghua preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments, self-motivated with demonstrable leadership ability, details oriented, well-organized, team oriented, and good time management skill
• Advanced computer skills (Pro Audio applications) and Windows based software. Knowledge of SAP is a plus
• Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time
