With flexi-time, based on a 9am-6pm day with +/- 1 hour, you decide your daily routine between 8am-10am ~ 5pm-7pm to best suit yourself. We rarely have late nights, or weekends (unless it's just for fun).

 

 

Our main work and income is designing, manufacturing and supplying miniature motors and mechanisms used in a wide range of products such as cars, locks, medical products, toys and tools for example. All our products are manufactured, in part or as a whole, by suppliers and factories in South East Asia, with the majority in China. We focus our efforts on products where a higher level of engineering control and supplier security is demanded, and therefore where cost is one of many technical and security factors that needs to be addressed.

Naturally, engaging suppliers for our projects, getting effective support with a high degree of cost control is a challenging process of assessment, negotiation and relationships. This is where you'd be getting involved. We need to manage both regular in-production account orders as well as the continual introduction of new products, variants and customisations with our existing as well as new suppliers. So your typical day may include:

 

 

First and foremost, this role is about relationships and people-skills as well as having a foundation-level understanding of technical manufacturing. You have to enjoy meeting new people, making connections and promoting yourself to rally the support of suppliers to help us win and close challenging deals. We expect you to have demonstrable aptitude in commercial negotiation and agreements, and practical skills in networking and promotion. Direct experience and qualifications as a buyer or sales in procurement would be a useful asset, particularly in engineering manufacturing. Naturally it goes without saying that fluency in English, and Putonghua Chinese, as well as a firm grasp of business culture in PRC is absolutely essential.

 

You will be working in a small close-knit team, and so you'll have a lot of freedom to find the best ways to get things done and offer support in many different ways. This means that your proactive approach in your efforts directly helps the team and will make a big overall difference. Based primarily in our Shatin office; we'll provide you with a proper workstation and a dual screen PC. You will be working directly with our Engineering Sourcing Specialist, but closely with our Product Development and Quality teams as well.
