Job Description

Cathay Pacific Information Management (IMT) mandate is to deliver and protect the stability of a world-class, industrial-strength airline environment that ensures the organisation operates 24x7x365 and is based on ‘world class’ people, tools and processes. The Product Management Team is part of IMT and is responsible for ensuring the Business is provided with the right IT infrastructure products and services, when and where they are needed, at the right price. It helps to increase system stability and cost efficiency, retire legacy products, provide a simple and consistent customer experience in the activation, support and cancellation of products and services that customers find easy to use and understand.

The Hosting Services Product Manager is responsible for driving excellence in the Hosting Services products and services IMT provides to meet the Group’s business needs. This role manages the overall Hosting Services product strategy and Portfolio for the Group including Legacy Mainframe Services, Physical and Virtual Servers supporting Unix, Linux and Windows Servers in production and non production domains, Data backup, archiving and data storage management solutions, Middleware and Database services, Physical and virtual storage services, IAAS and PAAS cloud services for the domains covered above.

This job holder will support the IMT Hosting Services Product Management team to take the lead in the coordination of driving excellence in the products and services IMT offers to our Business Unit customers, providing leadership in managing the ongoing development and enhancement of Product Management technologies, methods and processes, the development and delivery of future Products and Services including: advising on, reviewing and approving all product solutions, representing and providing account management functions for the product portfolio to the rest of IMT, Business groups and the vendor community, developing and executing the Marketing and Communications strategy for the product portfolio, developing and coordinating the customer feedback functions and the gathering of product requirements from the larger business community, coordinating pricing and Profit & Loss activities for the product portfolio and achieving the benefits and savings forecast for the product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading the Hosting Services stakeholders, ensuring effective engagement and job satisfaction
  • Develop Business cases for new products and Services within the portfolio
  • Develop pricing and standard catalogue services for the portfolio
  • Provide guidance on standard and non-standard solutions
  • Driving excellence in the products and services IMT offer to our Business Unit colleagues
  • Provide resource demand management for the Product portfolio
  • Develop, implement and manage Product Management technologies, methods and processes to achieve business objectives
  • Develop Marketing and communications deliverables and customer feedback mechanisms for the product portfolio.
  • Develop and implement product planning thereby ensuring the right products are available when and where they are needed at the right price. Responsibilities include:
    • Consolidate, develop and manage the requirements for future services
    • Co-ordinating those IMT functional groups that are accountable for the constituent components of the product
    • Overall Product financial responsibility including the preparing of operating, FTE, capital and project budgets and managing resources within budget.
    • Ensure effective risk management and controls are in place for Workplace Technologies Product Management thereby ensuring Operational stability
    • Maintain compliance with CPA’s business process and policies
    • Ensure all solutions implemented by the Product portfolio are architecturally and operationally sound and aligned with the Enterprise Architecture direction and enterprise vision
    • Provide leadership and mentoring on the business value of various product technologies
    • Drive client experience improvement activities for the Workplace Technologies product portfolio.
Job Requirements:
  • Tertiary Education
  • Have a minimum of 8 years experience as a manager in large IT and/or outsourced environments
  • Have the ability to provide leadership at multiple levels across the Group and with suppliers
  • Able to translate current and anticipated business needs and strategies into solutions
  • Strong understanding of product management approach to delivery of IT infrastructure services
  • Solid experience managing the development and execution of technology enabled change programs/projects
  • Understanding of large scale IT infrastructure and vendor management
  • Manage the Department within agreed budgets
  • Initiate Product and Service development projects
  • Resolve service and commercial IMT Product and Service supply issues
  • Formulate relevant policies
  • Optimise customer satisfaction and economic value of Product Management services
  • Provide a safe working environment for all staff within the Department
  • Provide administrative functions including those associated with position appointments, purchase and service request approvals etc. as they relate to the product portfolio
