Job Description
The role serves Haymarket new central marketing team, working across the HBM Brands, Campaign Asia-Pacific and CEI. Sectors in which Haymarket Brand Media titles lead the market in the region include: advertising, marketing, media and public relations, digital and direct marketing; print; awards and conferences Campaign Asia-Pacific. CEI is Asia-Pacific's source for the conference, event and incentive travel industry with news, venue listings, event concepts, case studies, and facility updates.
The purpose and objectives for this role are to:
- Set, manage & implement the marketing for all Brand Media events, including managing budgets & reporting.
- Be the driver behind the brand identity, feel and look, of the HBM Conference events. Challenge the concept of what we currently do and develop a more strategic approach to design output.
- Ensure high standards of creativity and accuracy are developed and maintained across all event marketing collaterals, templates and online/digital visuals. Work with the Senior Marketing Manager and Head of Audience to drive our research and development of future channels.
- Develop our Social Media Strategy, including a plan for each product, understanding each brands personality, target market behavior and content value.
- Become a key player with the development of our online and digital marketing channels, focusing on our website programming and best practice. Work with team to develop a greater understanding of what we can and can’t do with our current online platforms and challenging what we are doing versus what we should be doing.

Responsibilities
Campaign Management
- Manage the weekly EDM campaigns for HBM as set in the marketing schedule, liaising with each conference producer and head of conferences on content and copy.
- Circulate EDM Campaign OR and CTR reports to team within 24 hours of each campaign. Forward on leads to sales team.
- Build and segment targeted data selections based on target audience demographics of each event and develop more targeted campaigns for each segment (e.g. payers vs. complimentary).
- Using Email Platform and audience data, develop split testing campaigns for each event campaign, testing subject headings, EDM Template layout and calls-to-action, and report monthly on results, making next step suggestions.
- Set up event/subscription/ branding cross-promotion campaigns as and when required.
Online Management
- Audit and manage all event content ensuring complete accuracy with delegate rates, dates, venue, contact, speaker and agenda information.
- Manage internal producers and sponsor sales with deliverables of sponsor/speaker details, logos and profilers. Ensure all association and partner details are loaded within 24 hours of receiving full details.
- Social media engagement strategy - take complete ownership of developing individual social media strategies for each brand across events, content and subscriptions. Access and analyse each individual social platforms for each brand. Identify how each channel can be integrated to increase exposure.
- Develop content with editorial, productions and commercial teams and set timelines for each social platforms, including content rules and frequency.
- Set parameters and measurement targets for each channel, developing a tracking system to measure and report on traffic driven from social channels to each brands website.
- Work with the Marketing Analyst to develop a monthly report on social media activity and analysis including results, trends, performance and ROI.
- Research and identify regional social media platforms to support hard to penetrate markets (e.g. China/Korea).
- Explore new areas such as Animation and channels such as You Tube and devise a plan for how these channels can be used for event marketing promotion.
Planning and Strategy
- Work with Senior Marketing Manager to strategically plan how best to communicate with the events audience and drive business growth, making informed decisions on best channels to reach contacts. Including:
- Planning all email communication: frequency, types of updates (topical vs. regional vs. calendar vs. singular), content and design look and feel
Requirements
- 5+ years track record in event marketing (preferably B2B)
- Experienced in campaign marketing management of a portfolio of events across multiple channels (especially email & social media)
- Including the ability to make intelligent and refined data selections
- Creative flair in writing engaging, accurate and detailed marketing copy with an interest and passion to improve and develop this further
- Ability to think creatively, challenge the ‘norm’ and share ideas/recommendations on what could be improved/introduced for each different product; a zeal for testing and learning
- Ability to put new ideas and concepts into a testing environment, setting measurable metrics and a reporting process - engaging brand leaders and the research and analytics team in this process. Clear ability to analyse results, report and make recommendations on what happens next.
- Confident in communicating across the business to many internal and external stakeholders with the facts and findings from design and channel tests.
- Understanding of Social Media channels and how these can be effectively used and tracked in a B2B subscription and events based business
- Strategic thinker with the ability to not just look day-on-day or week-on-week, but look at the bigger picture and how the tasks we undertake now will ultimately benefit the business over 1, 2, 3+ years.
- Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a time-pressured environment, to strict deadlines.
- Organised with great time management
- Willingness to learn and develop commercial skills
- Excellent written English language and oral communication skills a must
- Basic level of excel analysis and reporting
- Proactive approach to problem solving and taking the initiative, developing new marketing ideas.

Desired but not essential
- Language skills (Cantonese and/or Mandarin)
- A Certificate/Diploma in Digital Marketing
- Experience of building and managing multi-platform social media campaigns across different brands and audiences.
