As a result of our expansion in Asia, we have immediate opening positions in our Asia Pacific Advanced Technical Center (APATC) based in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to APAC Technical Director, the manager is responsible for managing a team of engineers, product development specialists, chemists and technicians to execute and deliver on R&D and engineering projects for new product development, scale-up optimization, beta site trials and commercialization, mostly in the area of R&D and formulation work on specialty chemicals and materials.
• Work closely with our global R&D and product development team to transfer new products, processes and new equipment designs to Asia, and support customers to resolve technical issues.
• Work with regional sales and marketing team, technical service engineers and local lab staff to provide timely solution to customer complains, trouble-shooting and product quality issues.
• Lead on R&D programs to develop new products to meet customer needs for electronic applications.
• Conduct technical training to both internal staff and customers.  
• Propose and execute continued lab capability improvement based on project needs
• Oversee lab safety and continued improvement of work practices
• Assist with collaborations with university and research institution across Asia

Requirements:

• University degree or above in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or Metallurgy Engineering.
• At least 8 years of work experience in an industrial or applied research environment.
• Experience in electroplating, material surface finishing will be an advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of electronic packaging industry, especially PCB, connector, lead frame packaging, wafer level packaging and LED.
• Good knowledge and appreciation of FMEA, 6-Sigma and SPC.
• Proven management and leadership skills. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• A self-starter, who is hands-on, motivated, proactive and willing to take challenges and drive for results. Able to work effectively under pressure to meet tight timeline.
• Excellent language skills and multicultural establishment.
• Candidates with less experience would be considered for the post of Technical Manager
