With our regional headquarter based in Hong Kong, we are recruiting a China Sales Director, to be based in Shanghai or Guangzhou, China.

Reporting to the US-based Vice President of International Operations, and working closely with regional and China functional heads and team members, your key responsibilities will include defining key metrics and goals related to business growth and sales team development. You will be accountable for China sales P&L, and expected to fulfill the following duties:

• Formulate sales strategies and develop specification selling plans to achieve company business objectives for the China market. 
• Lead the China sales operations, coordinating closely with various functional departments to achieve sales goals.
• Manage daily operations of the China sales team and solve operational issues in sales activities.
• Build and enhance sales management processes to achieve maximum efficiency and “hit rate”. 
• Be knowledgeable about China’s commercial construction market and the competitive environment for strategic planning and tactical execution.
• Train and coach sales team members to upgrade their specification sales and management abilities
• Have a strong ability to present and communicate in English – this is a US-based company.

This is a senior role, requiring a tested leader with strong strategic, operational and cross-cultural orientation, and a track record of growing business aggressively and profitably.

Successful candidates should have a strong track record in sales management gained within the building material/ construction industry. Extensive experience in the Chinese commercial construction business, and ability to develop and lead a strong sales team are paramount

People management and development is also an important part of the role in an expanding organization where talent is key to our success. You must also be able to develop, define, align and deliver KPIs with all functional managers in line with business strategy.

Ideally, you will have grown a sizable business in your recent past and demonstrated results-oriented leadership, and the ability to define and implement organization vision. You will have all-around skills, including P&L and capital management, strategic planning, sales & marketing capabilities. Most importantly, you will be a highly commercial driven individual with the gravitas to lead the team.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor degree in Business and/or Engineering from a reputable university. MBA a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of total work experience, of which 5 years were in China sales management experience, ideally working for a western multi-national in the building material/ construction industries.
• Ability to travel in Mainland China for business and to Hong Kong for regional meetings.
• A proven track record of achieving significant double digit sales growth rate within a building material/ construction background.
• Strong ability to manage across cultures and work with people from different backgrounds.
• Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English is required.
• Highest level of honesty and integrity.
