    About the Role:

    • Editorial - Edit manuscript for content and organisation to ensure accuracy, currency, relevance, conformance, accessibility and timeliness. Perform original research as required. Ensure that developments in the law are monitored. Assist other team members as required.
    • Project Management - Adhere to the publishing schedule for all formats; implement agreed plans for product enhancements. Work within set commercial parameters.
    • Relationship Management - Manage authors and/or suppliers, including contract negotiations, ongoing author support, ensuring on-time delivery of manuscript/content and following up on quality issues.
    • Product Development – Work with team, colleagues and customers to develop and implement ongoing product development. Participate in the annual cycle of product reviews.
    • Process Improvement– Work with team, colleagues and customers to develop and implement continuous process improvements to achieve best practice.
    • Communication – Build effective relationships with colleagues, customers (internal and external) and management to ensure efficient execution of day-to-day operations and strategic plans.

     

     

     

    Requirements:

    Knowledge:

    • JD, LLB or equivalent degree preferred.

    Experience:

    • Admission to legal practice preferred but not essential.
    • Prior publishing, editorial or writing experience preferred.
    • A sound level of computer literacy including measurable keyboard skills.

    Competencies:

    • Adaptability and continuous improvement.
    • Balance between quality and speed and able to adapt workflows to adjust to external factors.
    • Customer focus.
    • Organisational commitment.
    • Teamwork and co-operation.
    • Working knowledge of publishing technologies, eg XML/DTP, and workflows.
    • Superior reading comprehension skills.
    • Experience in project management and ability to work to tight deadlines.
    • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated legal research skills.
    • Language skills: fluent English essential; competent Chinese useful.
