Responsibilities:
- Explore new sources of competent manufacturers for new & existing products. This includes vendor selection, management & performance assessment, negotiation of terms and formulation of buying strategies;
- Responsible for overseeing projects from supplier selection, cost negotiation, product sampling, critical path management, to trouble shooting in mass production where he/she will ensure that manufacturing meets the expected targets;
- Work closely with buying teams in retailing countries in Europe and Asia;
- Manage a team of merchandisers and work closely with Technical team and Operations team in HK and China;
- Partner with the product development team to develop new products with suppliers.
Requirements:
- University graduate with minimum 7 years' footwear sourcing experience in a manufacturer, buying office or trading firm, and at least 3 years’ experience in people management
- Able to organise and manage multiple projects at the same time
- Commercially focused and strong in numbers, able to think and plan with a long term view in the business
- Proven track record of managing a team effectively;
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, ability to motivate
