Linux Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Provide 7x24 support for the messaging environments (Solaris, HPUX, Linux, VCS, Exceptional handling).
• Install, configure, administer and support Solaris, HPUX, Linux, VCS.
• Advise on architecture; upgrade;design; performance and capacity of the UNIX environments.
• Develop, document and implement contingency plans
• Devise, document, implement and perform operational procedures

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science
• Solaris/Linux/AIX knowledge and experience is essential
• Resolves simple and/or routine/known problems within scope of defined standards
• Awareness of IT supports issues/security issues. Follow instructions given, ensure general rules and security regulations of the technical components are strictly adhered to.
• Resilience, high availability and disaster recovery design
• Solaris 10, HPUX, Linux and ITIL ver 3 certifications is an advantage
• Administration Experience on Solaris, HPUX and  Linux experience preferred
• Proficient in scripting in the following languages, such as K-shell, C-shell, Perl is an advantage.
• Solaris, HPUX Administration & performance tuning, SUN cluster, experience is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customer, and well team work.
• Provide 7x24 support (on-call) Knowledge Good Communication Skills
• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Co-ordinate with vendors for system projects implementation
