    This job contributes to Starbucks success by supporting implementation and execution of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance programs to ensure the availability of safe, wholesome, premium quality finished products for our customers.

     

    Summary of Key Responsibilities

    Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    • Help & contribute in the development, implementation, management, monitoring and review of an integrated quality assurance program to ensure that quality and safety standards are met for food, beverage and merchandise items manufactured, distributed and sold by Starbucks.
    • Work with quality assurance partners as well as cross functional partners across China and Asia Pacific markets to coach, guide, monitor & verify that the markets are carrying out quality assurance activities (local suppliers, local distributors, and stores) in market according to the Starbucks standards and local requirements.
    • Work with quality assurance both within the region, as well as in other regions & in Seattle to contribute to develop & improve on the Starbucks quality system.
    • Work with cross functional team to support China and Asia Pacific business initiatives from quality assurance perspective.
    • Supports investigation and troubleshooting of issues and concerns from retail stores and customers. Implements corrective action as required. Documents findings and communicates results to affected stakeholders. Take learning from each issue & incident to improve the system
    • Provides expert Quality Assurance support to China and Asia Pacific,communicates technical information between markets, China and Asia Pacific and Global Quality Assurance. Provides support for achieving compliance to company requirements.
    • Implements and improves internal Quality Assurance system and standards

     

    Summary of Experience

    • 2-3 years relevant experience in execution of food safety management program, quality assurance program management and execution in restaurant chains & manufacturers

     

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Knowledge of food processing technology, ingredient functionality, microbiology and food safety
    • Knowledge of quality assurance program methodologies and implementation within manufacturing/retail environment
    • Familiarity with food regulations and quality documentation system (ISO) and food safety audit schemes (GFSI, BRC, IFS)
    • Experience in retail or fast food restaurants industry is preferred
    • Ability to manage and resolve conflicts, communicate effectively with supplier management team, internal customers and peers
    • Ability to operate with minimal supervision and effectively in a fast-changing environment, and work as part of a team
    • Ability to solve vendor quality problems through data, processes and influencing skills
    • Ability to analyze complex data, draw conclusions and make recommendations
    • Ability to conduct food safety audits and/or interpret food safety audit reports
