Job Responsibilities- Conduct regular market research on current sources of supply, trends, product migration & relocation of production and provide market intelligence at a business group level to head office
- Expand product categories in line with the business strategy to meet the expected company growth
- Work with Strategy team on cost saving opportunities with the best priced products and supplier base
- Maximize supplier base Scorecards to ensure areas of accountability are assessed objectively and complied with the corrective action plan
- Establish internal KPIs for monitoring team performance and responsible for resources allocation / planning that can facilitate the team to meet or exceed agreed KPIs
- Ensure smooth handover from development / order placement to production
- Take the lead for planning the buying trips to ensure the best possible results are achieved
- To drive critical path for successful delivery of products on time
- Conduct regular meetings with buyers and team members on status of product development to deliver high quality trendy product at the best price
- Provide ongoing team feedback on individual performance and personal development
Job Requirements- Degree or above in relevant disciplines
- Extensive experience in a sourcing office environment with sound knowledge on general merchandise & electronic / audio products and high level of commercial aptitude
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing a team of merchandisers
- Sound understanding of cultural differences across regions
- Good communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Proficiency in written & spoken in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
- Well-versed in computer applications – MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Frequent business travel is required
