Harrow International School Hong Kong is recruiting for a Web Application Developer/Programmer who will be part of a vibrant and active team working towards providing value-added software tools and services to our community of students, staff and parents.
Report to Director of ICT, the incumbent will provide support on analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of school technology.
Responsibilities
- Perform systems and data analysis and data integration among various school applications and systems
- Deliver IT assistance to school staff, students and parents, include but not limited to conduct basis IT orientation for staff and students, provide network access and connectivity to staff, maintain system documentations and training materials for school
- Develop and maintain the school web-based applications built mainly with PHP, Scripts and SQL databases tools
- Handle data integration between various school systems, data analysis and presentation (set up ODBC, prepare SQL queries, create data views in Excel, prepare statistics and analysis)
- Support school information system (Engage) administration and report development, including manage and create user account and permission
- Provide in-house training to staff and to run induction sessions with students
- A good knowledge of networking is an advantage
Requirement
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with at least 2 years of programming experience (ideally in PHP) and 5 years of working experience
- Sounds knowledge in website development with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, MsSQL and/or MySQL
- With experience in a school setting or familiar environment is preferred but not essential
- Able to work within a team as well as independently
- Excellent command of written and spoken English. Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven problem solving abilities and creativity
- Able to work under pressure and to meet short deadlines
