    GENERAL SUMMARY

    Responsible for the coordination of merchandising operation and import buying activities, including order follow-up, sample approval, and supplier relations.

     

     

    DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for the coordination of daily operational activities in product development, preproduction sample development, costing, preliminary screening and production tracking.

    • Manage costing packages of various programs and ensures pricing competitiveness. Facilitate price negotiation process with vendors.

    • Communicate preproduction sample specifications with factories.

    • Track preproduction sample development and ensure matching of samples against required specifications and quality standards.

    • Track and manage production processes properly to meet quantity, quality, order specification and delivery dates requirements.

    • Diagnose production problems and work with factories to present alternatives to both Global Sourcing team and local management.

    • Communicate order details and requirements to factories and parties concerned.

    • Coordinate Sourcing trip schedule and logistics.

    • Coordinate Compliance, Q.A. and Logistics activities.

    • Educate vendors on company business Standard Operating Procedures.

    • Identify, assess and recommend new factories for inclusion to vendor matrix.

    • Identify training and development needs for your current responsibilities with your direct supervisor.

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS 

    • Fluency in English (written & oral)

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

    • Ability to travel internationally as required.

     

    WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION

    • University degree preferred.

    • 3 - 8 years’ experience in merchandising.  For senior role, 6 - 10 years' experience is required.

    • Experience working with overseas buyers and vendors.

    • With food sourcing background will be an advantage.
