The Regional Procurement Specialist will drive the negotiations, contracting, and strategy necessary to secure reliable supply of high quality raw materials at the best possible economics within the Asia region. This individual will also manage the relations with a set of vendors and developing vendors across a number of categories.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage the strategy, contract execution and supplier relationships within the assigned raw material groups, regional and global material supplies to the Trinseo businesses
• Run / support strategic sourcing projects for the regional components of categories, occasionally in support of procurement folks in other regions
• Support supply chain and CSR’s in supply or data management trouble shooting to ensure a smooth material flow and a high supply security for our customers
• Support the procurement team in other regions and any future operations expansion within the region to identify and develop suppliers. Be the proponent and project lead for the qualification and approval process for new vendors within the given raw material groups
• Support language and cultural needs in the region and between local suppliers and our global procurement organization.

Requirements:

• Degree holder, preferably in Engineering / Chemistry or Supply Chain, Operations Management or Business Commerce
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles
• Multinational company background, preferably with experience in supplier identification and development in Asia
• Having Plastics/chemical/material industry background is preferred
• Well versed in commercial negotiations in Asia
• Proficiency in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
• Demonstrated ability to own procurement metrics and a history of performing against those metrics
• Excellent in problem solving and analytical skills
