OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:  

Reporting directly to the AVP, Operations and Administration Manager, Asia, this role has overall responsibility for all internal logistics, warehousing, art handling and inventory management functions in Operations in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks: (Duties include but are not limited to the following)

• Overall management responsibility for art handling, warehousing, internal logistics and inventory management in Hong Kong offices and external warehouses.
• Management responsibility for all Logistics staff.
• Work closely with Specialist Departments to ensure outstanding levels of care and consistent operational excellence.
• Foster strong working relationships with key business stakeholders and maintain a high level of communication to team and senior management.
• Overall responsibility for creation and management of all internal logistics standards, policies and processes.
• Working with Operations and Administration Manager, Asia, with Head of Art Transport, with Head of Security, with Director of Operations, Asia and with Global Operations / Logistics colleagues, to contribute to the creation/improvement of internal logistics strategy.
• Working with the Process Lead, represent Art Handling & Logistics interests in Business Transformation Project; ensure area is prepared for implementation of new systems.
• Ensure the alignment of standards, policies and processes with the rest of Operations, in particular Art Transport, Inventory control, Client Services, Photography, Facilities Management and Gallery Operations.
• Ensure the skills and capabilities of Art Handlers are constantly developing to meet the changing needs of the business.
• Financial management of budgets and costs.
• Procurement and contract management of key logistics suppliers.
• Co-ordination with counterparts from Europe and America.

Skills / Competencies Required:

• Bachelor degree holder.
• A successful track record of managing change in a complex stakeholder environment.
• At least 5 years logistics and project management experience
• Proven people management ability, in particular the ability to lead managers (head of departments, specialists and other managers in support functions).
• The ability to think strategically and translate strategy into operational reality.
• Outstanding communication and influencing skills.
• Exceptional analytical ability.
• Excellent process and systems management skills. Experience in JDE is preferred.
• Fluent in Chinese and English
