Job Description

Role Purpose

This role covers China, Hong Kong and Malaysia, reporting direclty to the Head of Marketing.  Develop strategic, measurable and well thought out regional marketing programs supporting activity calendar and corresponding budget for Travelex business channels. Test ideas and proportions with an aim to optimise return. Develop and deliver marketing programs across all channels, with a focus on KPIs including sales and revenue growth. Create marketing initiatives to drive regional income & sales or overcome performance issues & trading challenges.

Responsibilities


  • Lead, develop and manage the implementation and communication of the Marketing Calendar and ad-hoc marketing initiatives for regional sales area (RSA), partners, business development, wholesale, online and ATMs with a specific focus on KPIs, ROI and overall profitability.
  • Responsibility for global projects at request of Head of Marketing.
  • Maintain a high level of customer insight including competitive analysis, consumer, travel, and industry trends.
  • Identification and progression of value initiatives that contribute revenue to the bottom line.
  • Creation and ownership of marketing project plans. On time and efficient delivery of these plans.
  • Write and design tender responses that are compelling, timely and facilitate a successful bidding process.
  • Regional internal and external communications responsibilities (approx. 10-15% of role) including PR & Regional Newsletter.
  • Ability to develop a strategic marketing campaigns considering objective, audience, and analytics.
  • Able to brief a designer or supplier and manage them to deadlines, quality and budget.
  • Develop and manage the RSA marketing budget.
  • Seek out best practice in the industry and marketing fields.
  • Self-education on the latest marketing findings and ideas.

Requirements


  • A degree holder with major in Marketing
  • At least 5 years or above experience at a marketing manager level
  • Good knowledge of laws and regulations for Financial Services in Greater China region and sound knowledge across Asia preferably in Malaysia
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese
  • Marketing thought leadership and strategy development
  • Analytical abilities to measure KPIs and ROI
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and communication skills
  • Influencing & relationship management skills
  • Expert in all key components of Marketing (including digital)
  • Tenacity, drive, the ability to operate and make key decisions effectively in a demanding environment, balancing risk with results
  • Proven ability to lead their area of expertise, focusing on results, proactively solving problems and supporting the business with solutions
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to apply solid commercial judgment to lead in their area of expertise
  • A strong record of performance improvement in their area of expertise, through increased sales, cost management or relevant performance measures
  • Experience of leading change in a multi-site environment
  • The ability to inspire teams to deliver in challenging circumstances, recognising the need to motivate and develop whilst maintaining pace and juggling priorities
  • The ability to build strong relationships, developing trust and credibility with customers, partners, peers, teams, internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-aware, open-minded with a high degree of personal and professional integrity

  • This role is based in Shanghai.
