Responsibilities:

The manager of SCM VAS Product and Procurement is responsible to act as both product and procurement ambassador and provide guidance towards colleagues, improve processes, and lead procurement initiatives.

• Be the local SCM representative in the branch to interact with existing and new customers
• Support Asia product development and Cluster product management
• Drive product margin via effective procurement and supplier performance management.
• Act as focal point and coordinator of procurement activities and work closely with regional Head of Procurement to implement the procurement strategy in NAS
• Drive productive competitiveness and improve service capability - Develop and implement a procurement plan for the specific cluster/branch - Run sourcing projects and negotiations to achieve regional cost saving targets - Optimize supplier base and continuously look for alternative solutions - Implement and facilitate Damco Procurement Standards -Achieve synergies between categories and across products
• Supplier management to achieve service level improvements by: a) Managing risks through identification, analysis and assessment of its impact together with actions and contingency plans; b) Sustainability improvements and following the responsible procurement guidelines; c) Supplier governance improvements, performance and contract management
• Establish a procurement community in Asia/Cluster/Branch; assess competencies, develop PDPs, and coordinate trainings
• Working Location: Kwai Chung MTL Warehouse Building

What we are looking for

• Bachelors’ degree or equivalent in business or related field
• Minimum 8-10 years supply chain and logistics working experience is preferred
• Understand local logistics market such as Trucking, warehouse and CHB;
• Ability to coordinate procurement initiatives throughout cluster/branch and lead the procurement community on operational, tactical, and strategic level
• Proven ability to independently structure and prioritize tasks and time
• Cross-functional understanding and ability to engage across the organization and find/implement synergies
• Solid business acumen across all products/categories and an ability to adapt and find procurement opportunities and put these into practice
• Ability to engage and motivate colleagues in order to drive new ideas and initiatives
• Preferably but not required to have e-sourcing experience (training will be provided if needed)
• Preferably experience from sourcing of services and/or goods; negotiations and supplier collaboration
• Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin
• Immediate available is an advantage
