PURPOSE/GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for improving facilities’ chemical management knowledge and skill level through continuing education and performance assessments.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with chemical management team to resolve the non-compliance issues for facilities with high concerns.

• Monitoring the potentially risks regularly and develop remediation tools and disseminate these practical tools to help the supply chain to implement a consistent and credible chemical management.

• Develop chemical training materials and capability building programs to support the entire supply chain.

• Improve facility chemical management knowledge and skill level through continuing education and performance assessment.    

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (e.g. Qualification, Job Experience):

• University graduate or equivalent in Textile Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry or related discipline
• A minimum of 10 -15  years working experience in chemical & dyestuff companies or sizeable textile mills with technical responsibilities
• Expert knowledge in textile wet processing /garment supply chain/Laundry & Printing and comprehensive understanding of sustainable chemical management in production environment.

• Sound experience in conducting chemical audit and implement environmental guidelines and procedures in textile mills / garment facilities   

• Proven track records in executing process improvement projects in chemical management.

• Strong network with chemical suppliers and testing laboratories for problem solving and / or chemical management enhancement

• Must be able to work effectively with all levels in a multicultural and multinational setting

• An independent and objective thinker, possess excellent communication skills and an ability to influence others tactfully

• Strong organizational and analytical skills with a considerable amount of judgment  in operation risks and problem solving ability

• Frequent travel is required
