You are expected to deliver on your promises and get the job done, but you're free to organise your daily routine to accommodate your schedule with our flexi-time structure. On a 9am-6pm day, we have a +/-1 hr flexi-time to best suit yourself and we rarely have late nights or weekends.

What we do and what you will be doing at PMD..
Our customers approach us with problems; it may be problems related to a special application or a quality control, but we are good at solving these problems. We manufacture motorised sub-assemblies which are built and tested to meet the requirements posed by these problems. Our product development team works with the product, introducing customised features and evaluating the performance of the designs and our infrastructure team develops tools, machines and instrumentation to support manufacturing and testing.

You will be supporting our engineers across the range of engineering activities; focusing primarily on electronics such as instrumentation / MCU control, but also including prototype development, CAD and assembly. It is a great opportunity for someone with a keen interest in real engineering to get involved in hands-on development activities.

Your typical day may include:

• Non-routine, adhoc mechanical, electronic, PCBA builds and teardowns
• Software development for application / instrumentation software in C++ & MCU frameworks
• Setup and experimentation for prototype trials and performance testing
• Electromechanical assembly and rework to develop manufacturing best-practice and processes
• Setting up new computers, IT network & telephones
• Adhoc assistance for QC with inspection and testing of product samples

What we're looking for..
We are looking for a good all-round assistant engineer who has a good grounding in electronics, but supported by excellent practical skills and an inventive, inquisitive mind. Recent graduates are welcome, we're interested to hear of what projects you'd been involved in both in your course and in your own free time. We don't expect you to know everything, so we're looking for someone with a strong appetite for learning real-world engineering skills and take pride in delivering reliable results for your team.

For your qualifications, we prefer you to have:

• Degree in Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering or related discipline (2:1 or 1st preferred)
• Strong, demonstrable problem-solving and practical skills such as soldering and hardware troubleshooting
• Exposure to fundamental software development in C++ and/or MCU development
• Solid fundamental computing and IT skills
• Fluency in English is essential to work alongside our engineers in HK and overseas
• Hong Kong citizen/resident or other immigration status with no restrictions for work in HK
