We have a task-orientated working life. You are expected to deliver on your promises and get the job done, but you're free to organise your daily routine to accommodate your schedule with our flexi-time structure. On a 9am-6pm day, we have a +/-1 hr flexi-time to best suit yourself and we rarely have late nights or weekends.

What we do and what you will be doing at PMD..

Our main work is designing, manufacturing and supplying miniature motors and mechanisms used in a wide range of products such as cars, locks, medical products, and tools, for example. All our products are manufactured, in part or as a whole, by subcontracted manufacturers in South East Asia, with the majority in China.

In our lab in Shatin, we build prototype and low volume product samples for customer approval as well as new testing machines and manufacturing jigs for factories. As our engineers develop new products and new systems, we need your help to support the build, test and qualification activities so that we can deliver more options and proven designs to our customers.

Your typical day may include:

• Non-routine and complex mechanical and electronic assembly and testing 
• Constructing and building proof of concept prototypes, including PCB assemblies and 3D printed mechanical parts 
• Assisting in constructing and testing of new machines, jigs and tools 
• Setup experiments and trials and record accurate results for SW and HW engineers 
• Electromechanical assembly and rework for low volume manufacturing production 
• Adhoc assistance for QC with inspection and testing of product samples 
• Setting up new computers, IT network & telephones

What we're looking for..

You will have superb soldering skills for small PCB components, and excellent practical skills with mechanical tools such as drills, cutters for preparing components and parts. The engineers will rely on you to setup and build components which function as required, so knowledge of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and calipers will be essential.

For your qualifications, you need to have;

• 4+ years experience as a Lab Technician / Support Engineer / Assistant 
• Excellent demonstrable practical building, soldering and testing skills 
• Solid fundamental computing and networking skills, including setup and basic troubleshooting Windows 
• Proficiency with Excel for data collecting and reporting for test results 
• Fluency in English is essential to work alongside our engineers in HK and overseas
