Summary Statement: Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, the Applications Engineering Manager, manages a team of Application Engineers and provides applications support to the Regional Sales Managers and the Distributors in the region for Company products in assigned market segments.  Based in Hong Kong, your responsibility is to ensure that the team providing applications training program development, departmental budgeting, and developing / mentoring Shure’s applications engineering staff. The incumbent should also enhancing Shure’s market position of offering the best applications support in the professional audio industry

Representative Duties     

• Manage the long term planning and budgeting for all operational aspects of Applications Engineering Team
• Partner with Regional Sales Managers to coordinate field support, negotiates and manages the travel schedules of Applications Associates that provide external product training
• Develop in-depth knowledge of key accounts in the assigned market segment and maintain good relationship with Resellers, System Integrators to ensure their fullest support for Shure products
• Develop full set of “Regional Standard” Applications materials for educational program and presentation materials in collaboration with various departments (including Sales Management, Applications Engineering, and Marketing)
• Partner closely with the Marketing Communications department to coordinate necessary applications training materials for “Shure Certified Engineering Program”
• Provide applications training to Associates in the Asia Business Unit for the assigned market segment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Degree holder or above in Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline; MS/MBA is desired
• Minimum of 8 years experience in managing technical team (field support team preferred)
• Experience in Professional Audio or Broadcast or Audio/Visual or related industry is preferred
• Extensive knowledge of audio and RF technologies, preferred with field experience in Broadcast Station, or A/V installation
• Able to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data or situations requires evaluation of identifiable factors
• Advanced computer skills (Pro Audio applications) and Windows based software. Experience in using CRM system is a plus
• Self-motivated with demonstrable leadership ability
• Detail oriented, multi tasking, well-organized, team oriented, and good time management skills
• Excellent communication, presentation skills, and personal presentation with good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Putonghua is preferred
• Willing to travel
