Reporting to the Senior Area Engineering, the job holders will work at the Construction & Maintenance Department of the Transmission & Distribution Division in Ap Lei Chau. The main responsibilities include the following:

Responsibilities:

n   To assist in the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of all plants and associated protection & control equipment in the transmission and distribution networks

n   To supervise technicians / tradesmen / contractors to optimize the deployment of the resources in the most cost effective manner to excel in work quality and provide excellent customer services in electricity supply and all public-related work

n   To lead a small team of technical staff in executing construction and maintenance work and the related supporting functions

n   To operate 22kV and 11kV switchgears and handle all work in the distribution network upon acquiring the required in-house Electrical Safety Rules authorization

n   To investigate system faults, alarms and defects

n   To attend emergency duties beyond office hours as required

Requirements:

n   Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with heavy current / high voltage concentration

n   Completed a recognized Scheme 'A' training or has equivalent working experience in lieu of training

n   At least 3 years’ relevant working experience in Electrical engineering or 1 year after completion of recognized graduate training

n   Good communication and interpersonal skills

n   Knowledge of PC applications

n   Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese

n   Working outdoors is required

n   Possession of a valid driving licence for Class 1 and 2 vehicles
