Reporting to the Shift Operations Engineer, the job holder will work at the Shift Operations Section of the Operations Department, Transmission & Distribution Division in North Point.  The main responsibilities include the following:

Responsibilities:

n   To handle distribution system alarms, defects / faults rectification of distribution apparatus such as cables, switchgear and transformers 

n   To carry out high voltage and low voltage fault repair

n   To attend emergency service calls / requests from customers and public

n   To supervise assistant technicians and contractors to carry out cable / equipment fault repair

Requirements:

n   Completion of Craft Apprenticeship or equivalent in power cable jointing

n   Proficient in high voltage and low voltage cable jointing

n   Good communication skill and customer-oriented

n   Working outdoors and shift duty are required

n   Possession of a valid driving licence for Class 1 and 2 vehicles is a must

Candidates with less working experience / lower qualification but with ample experience in cable jointing will also be considered for the post of Assistant Technician.
