The Job:

The Senior Production Planner is primarily responsible for increasing supply chain flexibility and visibility. He/She is required to provide unconstrained projection and buy plan, working collaboratively with Finance, Sourcing and IM team to finalized constrained buy plan, create and maintain PO, ensure standard order management and PO life cycle tracking; prepare vendor/company scorecard, build scenarios and perform related analyses and special project execution in support with the corporate’s strategies and goals.



• Develop unconstrained projections and buy plan by working closely with the US forecasting and IM team;
• Review with Finance, Planners, and Sourcing team to understand the situation and requirements in terms of open to buy, supplier/factory capacity, MOQ and fabric status to convert the buy plan into an optimized PO;
• Finalize constrained projections and buy plan and issue the PO’s as well as the necessary maintenance and splits as needed;
• Track PO progress, responsible for full life cycle PO tracking to ensure accuracy of ex-factory dates and consequently correct supply signals. Proactively communicate date changes and any quality issues that potentially has a supply chain interruption;
• Collaborate with sourcing teams for necessary fabric booking and raw material ordering;
• Proactively identify and address any issues relating to inventory/production planning, and recommend necessary resolutions to Management;
• Create & update vendor metrics and scorecards;
• Drive the key supply chain initiatives and strategy in terms of lead time reduction, on time improvement, holiday strategy etc.;
• Review, understand and make recommendations to continuously improve current work processes;
• Conduct weekly review of supplier production capacity, production schedule and WIP status to ensure proper planning is in place; and
• Performs any ad-hoc tasks/projects as assigned by the superior.

 

The Person:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Supply Chain / Inventory management or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 - 5 years’ relevant experience in merchandising, inventory management and/or production planning.  Prior work experience in MNC/buying office an advantage. 
• Prior work experience in retail and/or garment/hardline business preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational with attention to detail.
• Positive working attitude. Ability to give clear and proper instruction.
• Good command of written and spoken English & Chinese.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and must be an advanced Excel user.
• Willingness to perform overseas travel, when required.
