Job Description

The Role

Manage circulation sales relationships and growth for single copy and amenity/bulk businesses in APAC region on behalf of The Wall Street Journal, and other Dow Jones publications.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive circulation strategy, grow readership and execute action plans in Asia in-line with company goals.
  • Expand single-copy sales utilizing the wholesaler network through targeted account base growth, and by developing sales initiatives and programs that cost –efficiently increase the circulation for WSJ.
  • Cultivate relationships with retailers to secure optimal product display and point-of-sale placement
  • Closely monitor arrival times and operational efficiency in the wholesaler network to ensure maximum sale
  • Monitor competitors’ activities and recommend programs to counter or preempt them.
  • Secure full compliance with regional Amenity brand standard by calling on hotels in your territory that have these deals. Create awareness of and ensure conformity with hotel’s contracted requirements to provide WSJ.
  • Sell new WSJ amenity deals among travel outlets in your territory that don’t already have international standards or profitable single copy operations. Includes print and digital sales among hotels, airlines, a conference and related outlets.
  • Expand sales with existing hotel clients. Includes up sell of WSJ Digital, WSJ. Magazine and Barron’s; as well as draw increases when WSJ print demand is high.

Position requirements:

  • Fluent English, Cantonese & Mandarin, written & spoken
  • Frequent travel will be required
  • At least 2 years of consultative sales experience – preferably in media, publishing, retail, and/or travel industries – with proven track record of success
  • College degree or equivalent
  • Experience analyzing and strategically managing a geographic territory to realize maximum sales opportunities
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Salesforce.com experience preferred.
  • Thirst for knowledge to keep abreast of current industry development and trends in all relevant technical/professional knowledge areas to stay ahead of competition
