Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting Operations Manager to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the Logistics Center, customer service and distribution network of Schenker, in handling customer shipment and information along the process of incoming, put-away, value-added, pick & pack and outgoing, etc. from the point of receiving shipments / information from customer, supplier, forwarder, express company, or transportation company to the delivery of the shipments to the assigned location.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Assistant Supervisor and a team of Customer Services Assistant to provide effective and efficient logistics service to customer. All the goods and information in Logistics Center are properly received, handled, accurately put-away, identified, value-added, inventory control, transferred, dispatch scheduling and distribution
  • Motivate team spirit and maintain high morale of staff to increase productivity, and to maintain good communications with all levels
  • Monitor and ensure the shipment / order information are proper entered, received, manipulated, updated and recorded to the computer system in accurate and timely manner
  • Monitor and reinforce the service quality and discipline of the team and sub-contractor according to company’s policies, strategies and guidelines
  • Maintain good channels and effective communication between Operations team, Customer Service Team, sub-contractors and other departments for both sides benefit
  • Establish and carry out proper working procedure and make a proper corrective and preventive action through the analysis and investigation of problems, feedback and complaints
  • Set-up guidelines, standard operations procedure (SOP) and key performance indicator (KPI) to monitor and measure the performance and service level of operations team
  • Ensure adequate manpower is assigned and job load is distributed evenly to meet the targets per month
  • Support customer enquiries on shipments
  • Coach and appraise the team on their tasks with particular emphasis on processes and system
  • Identify staff advantages / disadvantages and training needs, jointly develop and co-ordinate training sessions with trainers and conduct training sessions as assigned
  • Lead, motivate and supervise the team to ensure their performance is meets the minimum standards
  • Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to achievement the objectives and targets
  • Take over assignment or project and participate cross-functional meeting with relate departments and/or customer
  • Ensure optimal resources are planned and utilized in terms of facilities and equipment, system application, people and related information data
  • Carry out security and work safety measures and controls in the logistics center and distribution network
  • Deploy and complete special assignments at the instructions of the Operations Manager and / or superior to achieve company’s goal and aims

Requirements:

  • Higher Diploma in Supply Chain Management / Logistics or related discipline
  • 3 years of experience in third party logistics operations or in similar capacity
  • 2 years experience in leading operations teams in a sizable company
  • Independent, strong personal motivation and disciplined
  • Knowledge in quality management system such as ISO and DG Handling procedure
  • Computer literate, good command of written & spoken of English and Mandarin
  • Possess core competences including leadership, managing change, target and result focus, entrepreneurial responsibility and team steering
  • Work location: Tsing Yi / Tai Po
