Job Description

Role purpose

 

Responsible for completion of Risk and Control assessments of the business areas and functions operating within defined geographies as directed by the regional Risk Assurance manager to an agreed standard and timeframe

To consult and collaborate with local operational teams to understand the business and regulatory environment that they operate within in order to identify and quantify risk exposures using Travelex risk methodology and systems

Sampling of first line checks to confirm accuracy

Testing the operational effectiveness of other key control s, e.g. security, H&S etc.

Provision of pro-active support and guidance to the business to enhance the design of the key business controls in order to efficiently manage the risk exposures identified

To work closely with the local C&R managers and provide Risk MI and insight to inform local management, entity boards and the Travelex risk governance (risk committee) framework

To act is the local communications champion for risk ensuring that there is regular and effective two way communications between risk and key stakeholders, i.e. Operations, Facilities, Sales and BD

Provision of Reporting and insight to the regional Risk Assurance Manager

Undertake / oversee local investigations as directed by Risk Management

Relationship management

  • Develop sound professional working relationships with Operations colleagues, business staff and management, building their confidence and acquiring a comprehensive understanding of the business
  • Build strong relationships with the central risk team and peers to ensure relevant information is communicated and shared in a timely manner.

Management information

  • Produce accurate, timely and relevant Risk and Assurance MI for:

o   Risk assurance Manager

o   Head of Risk Assurance

o   Travelex Risk Committees

o   Travelex Country boards 

Communication

  • Responsible for pro-active and regular communication with other areas of Compliance & Risk and to the business stakeholders
  • Production of concise and accurate risk reports as directed by the regional Risk Assurance
  • Be supportive and encourage support for “people initiatives” e.g. Your Voice, Travelex Awards etc
  • Play a participative part in Team Briefs.
  • Be proactive in the provision of feedback and the delivery of ideas to develop and improve   solutions relating to Travelex C&R function
  • Ensure feedback to line manager outlining general activities and ‘how we aredoing’.

  • The role will have no direct reports 

General

  • Undertakes any necessary training associated with the duties of the post and participates in training and development procedures.
  • Complies with all Company Health and Safety policies and legislation in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Maintains confidentiality and observes data protection guidelines.
  • Manage expenses in accordance with Company Expense Policy.
  • Carries out any other reasonable duties commensurate with their capability.

 

 

 

  • Working knowledge of Risk management methodologies including risk identification and assessment, control testing and reporting Strong communication, influencing, negotiation and engagement skills
  • Good communication and stakeholder management capabilities
  • A team player with a flexible and pro-active approach, able to work autonomously, seeking guidance when required
  • Excellent report writing and drafting ability, able to adapt styles to the target audience
  • High level of discretion and able to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information
  • Understanding of Operational risk and the application of security controls to mitigate risk exposures
  • Experience of carrying out security Audit / assurance assessments
  • Commercial acumen able to balance risks with a business perspective
