Job Description

The Role

The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong is seeking to fill the position of China Affairs Executive. 

The China Affairs Department formulates and implements AmCham’s overall China Agenda. Led by the Chamber’s Board & the China Affairs Group, and working closely with various Departments and Committees, the Department is dedicated to reinforcing Hong Kong as both a gateway into and out of China. Two major goals are to inform AmCham members about business developments and opportunities in Mainland China, and to assist member companies to succeed in China’s market. The Department also helps member service companies interface with Chinese companies that are trying to go global.

 

Job duties include:

  • Conducts research on China’s economic & trade policies and related issues for project planning
  • Helps execute the Chamber’s China-related projects, activities, and delegation trips
  • Works closely with other departments in promoting membership satisfaction and retention
  • Maintains the Department’s database and webpage
  • Participates in events held by other organizations to collect information and build productive relationships

 

 Requirements:

  • A University Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in public or government relations, China or international affairs
  • Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is required
  • At least 2 years working experience, preferably with China-related responsibilities
  • Basic knowledge of China’s government structure and current economic and trade policy development related to US-HK-China relations
  • Ability to manage CRM database
  • A team player with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual translation and interpretation skills would be an advantage
