Purpose of the position:

The CIM Program Officer is responsible to lead and coordinate a variety of technical support to build up the capacity of WV staff and local partners in Mainland China in areas of education or, child development, with the ultimate goal of enhancing children’s well-being through quality programming. This position is expected to plan and coordinate with internal and external consultants to render support and capacity building for staff and counterparts. S/he is expected to closely monitor the progress and ensure quality implementation of CIM project(s) of the team.


Responsibilities:

• To plan and coordinate for staff and partners’ training in China in areas of education or child development
• To plan and coordinate for educational tools development to partners and children in China in area of education and child development
• To support the management of CIM project(s) in China
• To identify, develop and maintain partner relationship with local counterparts, NGOs for project development
• To liaison and communicate with Regional Office in areas of education and child development of China
• To support the team in writing proposals, reports, and program implementation
• To provide communication support to the team, including story-writing and publication materials

Requirements:

• Degree holder or above
• At least 3-years work experience, experiences in children’s work or social welfare organizations will be an advantage
• Strong interest in serving and working with children in vulnerable areas, including those with special needs
• Self-motivated, good time management and organization skills
• Cross cultural experience, sensitive and understanding of the China context
• Team oriented and strong systematic and coordination skill
• Able to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
• Excellent command in written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua) and English
• Competent in Microsoft Office
• Frequent travel to China is needed
