Job Description

ROLE DEFINITION:

Assisting and facilitating Yahoo! North Asia, India and SEA Sales and Advertising Operations with the management of the group’s programs and portfolio of projects (prioritizing and sequencing, resource allocations, dependency and risk mitigation strategies, program/project budget development and management, business process improvement, business process change management). Project priorities and objectives may change rapidly as business and/or functional requirements evolve, so the candidate should possess the ability to find creative solutions to issues that jeopardize project goals or timing, within budget and/or resource constraints.

This individual will track all aspects of a given project; from the requirements gathering phase through to implementation; will communicate progress, issues, and status to all relevant parties both internal and external to the company; and will provide necessary assistance to other team members, as required.

The candidate must feel comfortable with, and remain calm in the face of uncertainty, rapid change, and aggressive deadlines common to rapidly growing companies with evolving business models.

The ability to communicate issues and solution approaches to senior management is imperative to success in this position. The candidate must have a proven track record of project completion.

 

The location for this role is in Yahoo!’s Hong Kong office.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide project management service for platform, systems, and ad product projects.
  • Facilitate high-level project requirements analysis, including defining business requirements and objectives.
  • Work closely and develop effective work relationships with various project stakeholders (sales, sales operations, advertising operations, global advertising marketplaces, account management/client services, producers, finance, engineering, 3rd party consultants) across geographies.
  • Focus on business process improvement and corresponding change management.
  • Assist with technical due diligence activities, including assessment of appropriate technologies and solution designs, and vendor selections.
  • Develop detailed project schedules and milestones based on business objectives and timing requirements.
  • Track project activities, deliverables and expenditures against plans, and develop and manage project status documentation and communications on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • As part of project status tracking and reporting, continuously assess project risk factors and recommend appropriate courses of action to mitigate those factors.
  • Manage project documentation, communications, meetings, and required meeting follow up.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Yahoo! North Asia, India, and SEA Sales and Advertising Operations, relative to the projects managing.
  • Will be called upon frequently to communicate project status effectively to senior staff members. 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor Degree required; Degree in IT/Business is preferred.
  • Experience in online industry or Sales Operations in MNCs with a minimum of 5 years of direct project management experience.
  • Experience with sales productivity tools e.g. Salesforce.com is highly preferred.
  • PMP or other Project Management designations are preferred.
  • Excellent organization skills, project tracking abilities, problem solving, and communications skills (both verbal and written); strong focus and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated skills in requirements gathering, resource organization, project / task prioritization and schedule development.
  • Ability to build strong, effective working relationships, be able to coordinate with various stakeholders across functions/countries.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments with effective resolution of conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to manage obstacles and incorporate sensitivity to cultural differences and divergent priorities.
  • Can work under pressure with very minimum guidance.
  • Very strong spoken and written English language skills required. Mandarin language skill a plus.
  • Asia-Pacific regional exposure is highly advantageous.
  • Travel will be required as necessary.
