Buddy Reading Program helps the children from low income families to develop a love of reading English story books and is part of the literacy program developed by Kids4Kids’ unique matching and sharing ecosystem.  By reaching out to  kids, our volunteers give themselves an opportunity to learn about others – giving back, taking actions and equipping themselves with new social, leadership, presentation skills and bridging the literacy divide. Volunteers from corporations, student organisations and different schools come to join us on weekends to serve others in need.  

This position is full time (5 days per week).

Job Description

• To conduct the Buddy Reading training for new volunteers.
• Identify and coordinate new Buddy Reading sites with existing and new partners.
• Manage large numbers of volunteers (individuals, schools and corporates)
• Monitor the Buddy Reading sites to ensure they are carried out professionally to Buddy Reading standards.
• Manage and provide support to Buddy Reading Leaders
• Manage and input survey data on a weekly basis
• Monitor and evaluate the program for existing and potential funders of the Buddy Reading Program

Requirements

• Degree holder with 1 year relevant experience preferably in NGO/Community Centre/School
• High proficiency in written and spoken English 
• Experience in event management / programme coordination / leading student groups will be an advantage.
• Experience working with children, teenagers and volunteers is desirable
• Proficiency in PC skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chinese word processing. Knowledge of Access will be a plus.
• Require strong interpersonal skills, detail-minded, hard-working, attentive to details and self-motivated
• Strong communication skills
• Able to start immediately and open to working the occasional Saturday
