Job Description

General Summary of the Position

Reporting to the Buying Manager, the candidate will support on implementing the buying plan and delivery synergy saving. He/she will responsible for the product sourcing and development, cost negotiation, right supplier identification, evaluation and relationship establishment. He/she will work closely with the cross functional team for the end-to-end project management, meet the on time delivery and quality KPIs. In addition, he/she will also involve in monitoring the sell through, inventory and replenishment orders.

Financial responsibilities: (budget, costs )

  • Support the team to deliver the maximum Synergy saving for WBA
  • Negotiate the best optimum cost with suppliers to enhance the profit margin
  • Drive continuous improvement in margin & synergy

Responsibilities & Specific Accountabilities

  • Responsible for end to end delivery of specific NPD and any ongoing replenishment skus, to an agreed cost, quality and on time.
  • Support Senior Buying Manager and the team to manage key stakeholders throughout the process to achieve KPIs: Synergy Benefits, Margin Improvement, on time delivery, first time inspection rates, LEAN savings, and Lead time reduction
  • Accountable to compliance of the SOP & key control points

  • Monitor suppliers the end to end supply chain activities, including artwork, sample, production, on time delivery
  • Good Teamwork, work closely with line manager and cross functional team

Customers and Stakeholders

  • US buying team, Own Brand Team, Product Development Team, Global Sourcing Team
  • Local Cross functional Team

Education and Qualifications

  • University Graduate or equivalent

Job Experience

  • At least 5 years of solid experience in buying office, sourcing for hardlines, preferable on mobile accessories
  • Familiar with the US retail market and sound product knowledge
  • Strong connection with supplier base
  • Able to handle multi-tasks and posses a high level of initiative and integrity under a dynamic and competitive environment

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills as well as capability to interact effectively with all levels
  • Key team players with ability to supervise the subordinate, impact and influence associates from local team and overseas team
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Good command of English and Putonghua

Desirable Personal Attributes and Competencies

  • Proven experience to be able to work with overseas buyers independently
  • Able to work under pressure and independently with minimum supervision
  • Assertive, self-motivated and excellent communication skills

  • Willing to travel
