Job Description

Main duties

The main duties of a Legislative Assistant include:

(a)  making logistical arrangements for meetings;
(b)  liaising with the Administration, Members' offices and deputations;
(c)  drafting circulars and letters, etc;
(d)  researching information;
(e)  maintaining database systems; and
(f)   undertaking other administrative and secretarial duties.

Entry requirements

Candidates should have the following:

(a) (i) Level 3 or equivalentNote or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination ("HKDSEE"), or equivalent; or (ii) Grade E or above in two subjects at Advanced Level in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination and Level 3/Grade C or above in three other subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent; preferably with an accredited Associate Degree or Higher Diploma in a relevant discipline, or equivalent;
(b)  preferably six years' relevant work experience, such as committee work and office administration;
(c)  good command of written and spoken Chinese and English;
(d)  good knowledge of common computer applications; and
(e) initiative, good communication and interpersonal skills, and have self-motivation and sense of responsibility.

The Secretariat may devise further criteria to shortlist applicants. Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend a written and a computer skills test.

Remuneration

The starting salary is $17,995 per month, increasing by seven annual increments to $26,785. A monthly cash allowance applicable to the rank of Legislative Assistant (the current rate is $465 per month) is also payable. An incremental credit of one salary point will be offered to the successful candidate having accredited Associate  Degree qualification or above. The successful candidate will be appointed on three-year agreement terms subject to renewal upon satisfactory completion of service, at which the appointee will be eligible for an end-of-agreement gratuity. The gratuity, when added to the employer's contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme, is equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the agreement period. Fringe benefits include paid leave as well as medical and dental benefits.

Note  "Attained with Distinction" in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade C in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are regarded as equivalent to Level 3 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.

入職條件

應徵者應:

(a)  (i) 在香港中學文憑考試取得5科達第3等級或同等或以上成績,或具同等學歷;或(ii) 在香港高級程度會考取得兩科達E級或以上成績,以及在香港中學會考其他3科達第3等級/C級或以上成績,或具同等學歷;而持有相關認可副學士學位或高級文憑者更佳,或具同等學歷;
(b)  最好具備6年相關工作經驗,例如委員會工作及辦公室行政經驗;
(c)  具有良好的中、英文講寫能力;
(d)  熟悉一般電腦應用系統;及
(e)  處事主動積極,具有良好溝通及人際相處技巧,並具自發性及責任感。

秘書處可制訂進一步的準則,以選出初步入選的申請人。初步入選的申‍請人或須參加筆試及電腦技能測試。

香港中學文憑考試應用學習科目(最多計算兩科)的"達標並表現優異"成績,以及其他語言科目的C級成績,會被視為相等於香港中學文憑考試新高中科目的第3級成‍績。

薪酬

入 職薪酬為每月17,995元,並按7個按年增薪額增至26,785元,另有為議會事務助理職級而設的每月現金津貼(現時的津貼額為每月465元)。持有副 學士學位或以上資歷的成功受聘人士將獲得一個額外的增薪點。成功受聘人士會按合約條款受聘,為期3年,倘完成服務期而工作表現良好,可獲續約,並會獲得一 筆約滿酬金,其款額加上僱主在強制性公積金計劃下所作的供款,相等於合約期內所得底薪總額的10%。附帶福利包括有薪假期、醫療及牙科福利。
