Function

The Creative Director will set the creative vision for the company’s projects and ensure the visual intention of each project is achieved. The Creative Director will also be responsible to manage a team to deliver projects within budget, and within set project timelines.

The Creative Director will work with clients and their business partners and will be expected to travel to meetings as required by the project .

The Creative Director must be astute to understand the client’s expectations and to deliver them competently, efficiently and within budget and agreed timeline.

The Creative Director will also work with artists, designers and the creative team to develop concepts and realize project artworks.

REPORTS TO: Company Directors
SUPERVISES: Project Leaders, Creative and Technical Consultants

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor degree or above in interior design / architecture or business management.
• Over 6 years experience in an art consultancy company specializing in 5 star and or boutique hospitality projects.
• 2-4 years in a management position.
• Strong Business Acumen
• Experience in working with artists is a must.
• Exceptional English , Cantonese and Mandarin is essential.
• Good writing skills
• Must possess exceptional computer skills. PC knowledge with Mac knowledge is a plus. Thorough knowledge of the following software applications is required, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, PowerPoint, Excel and any widely utilized word processing application.
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively and provide marketable solutions in conceiving, developing an artwork program even under pressure.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities: Art Direction/Project Management

• Make presentations to client.
• Prepare bids for projects
• Personally work on the art selection.
• Interact with team to develop creative concepts and executions of projects.
• Possess solid understanding of the art field.
• Work closely with client’s project team and monitor all projects.
• Travel to source or meet clients as required. 

Secondary Responsibilities: Staff Development

• Provide detailed direction to designers.
• Train new staff when required.

Skills required

• Exceptionally good communication skills.
• Abililty to work quickly and accurately.
• Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
• Understanding of different medium and technique used in artwork production.
• Understanding of perspective and space relationships.
• Manage challenging situations both internally and with the client.
• Command respect from freelancers and designers and be able to effectively oversee their work.
• A good eye for decoration and detail.
• Ability to conceptualize ideas.
• Ability to think visually.
• Detail Oriented with a methodical approach to work.
• Possess Leadership skills .
• Ability to see the broader picture and to co-ordinate effectively.
• Diplomacy and sensitivity when working with artists, clients and other business partners.
• Business management experience is a distinct advantage.
• Candidates from Interior Design /Architecture /Graphic Design industry with management experience are preferred.
