Job Description
The position of Digital Marketing Officer is located within the Fundraising Department based in Hong Kong office. His/her responsibility is to maximize Greenpeace's online audience primarily through social networks and other digital channels, for examples: Facebook, Weibo, WeChat, LINE, SMS, Email and etc. The ultimate goal is to increase financial supporter base, the engagement and retention levels with Greenpeace that lead to financial contributions to the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Community Information: Develop and maintain Greenpeace East Asia’s Hong Kong presence in targeted social networking sites and the Greenpeace Hong Kong website.
- List building: Implement tactics and strategies to bring visitors to our landing pages including the use of paid advertising and promotion. Increase the size of financial supporter base for the organization.
- Facebook: Maintain our Facebook Page, posting content on the wall, preparing updates to Fans, uploading pictures and video, creating polls, moderating and answering comments.
- Other Social networks: Be alert to new trends in Social Networks locally and globally and work with additional networks if appropriate (e.g. Weibo, WeChat, LINE, Twitter and etc.)
- Reporting: Provide analysis regularly for social networks and web activities. Change/adapt and optimize strategies / tactics according to results.
- In consultation with the Direct Marketing Manager set annual budgets and targets for web operations and review progress against financial targets on a regular basis.
- Take responsibility for accurate financial management of the Digital Marketing budgets. Ensure appropriate ROI for all expenditure.
- In collaboration with the Supporter Services and Communications staff, deliver appropriate retention strategies to financial and potential financial supporters.
- Work with other departments and offices in Greenpeace, globally, on an as-needed basis to enhance integration internally between Direct Marketing and other departments.
- Build and maintain the relationship with digital vendors and bloggers in order to promote Greenpeace campaigns to the targeted audience.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in New Media, Business or Marketing
- At least 3 years in related area
- Experience in social media management and web analysis tool.
- Knowledge of internet culture and close familiarity with the tools and landscape of the digital world.
- Experience with digital marketing – including the use of paid online and social media advertising.
- Ability to comprehend direct marketing research and/or marketing data and adjust fundraising and/or marketing strategies accordingly
- Proficient with several computer and other communication technologies including web and social media analytic programs, email programs, and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Excellent communication skills (both one-on-one and in small groups; both written and oral), including the ability to represent Greenpeace East Asia in a manner consistent with Greenpeace East Asia’s reputation as inspiring, intelligent, and passionate about its issues.
- Knowledge in mobile marketing is a plus
- Fluent written Chinese and spoken Chinese (Cantonese), and written and spoken English are required. Fluent spoken Chinese (Mandarin) is preferable.
