Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Based in HK (Continent Office in APAC), the calibre will lead the key product initiatives for the Asia Pacific Brand, Marketing, Sales & Consumer Division to help Marriott define, build, and operate the best digital/social/mobile products and payment solutions. This role will deliver high quality, localized products and solutions to customers by understanding product strategy and customer needs, supporting the development of business cases, developing business requirements, and supporting product development and deployment. S/he will significantly expand Marriott International’s loyalty base in China while aiding in the capture and analysis of important insights on domestic Chinese consumers. Developing WeChat as an engagement and payment solution platform will be a primary focus. S/he will also assist in the development and deployment of a robust loyalty program leveraging digital as a key channel.

 

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS 

  • Develop customer digital products solutions that will drive loyalty and bookings leveraging both proprietary and non-proprietary platforms.
  • Work with joint venture partner in China to develop customized online offerings that will drive preference for Marriott.
  • Support APAC lead for the development of digital/social/mobile products with the focus on developing regionally specific offerings that will enable Marriott guests to engage with Marriott brand and services.
  • Support partnerships with cross-discipline teams that have significant impact on social/digital/mobile channels/touch points including: the regional team, strategy, mobile, user experience, user research, user testing, eDistribution operations, measurement and analytics, rewards and technology.
  • Manage external vendors, when needed, and develop/approve engagements and statements of work within the framework of Marriott’s master consulting agreements.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet Marriott’s product standards and enterprise-wide project management standards for system design, implementation and production.
  • Create solutions, leveraging both internal assets and strategic third party partnerships.
  • Coordinate communication with internal executives, the field, customer care, and guests for all product updates.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

    • 6-8 years’ relevant experience with minimum 4 years in product management, eCommerce, and/or IT development experience, preferably with China and WeChat development experiences
    • Entrepreneurial, startup attitude, willing to take initiative and calculated risks
    • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills with ability to interpret and translate data into key learnings
    • Excellent consultative, listening and communication skills
    • Ability in demonstrating leadership/influence and collaboration in a matrix-managed environment, and across multiple and diverse groups. Experience in leading agile teams is a plus
    • Sound interpersonal skills with ability to work across the organization; interact, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels of management and peers
    • Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua). Cantonese language capability is a plus
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications
