Position Description

Responsible for developing the full IT functions in Asia to provide high quality technical supports and business partner supports to a fast growing organization


Job Responsibilities

• Oversees the overall IT development and translate into IT plan for Merit Asia in alignment of the company growth direction
• Be a value added business partner to Business units and Functional units through understanding strategic imperatives and operational needs
• Develop and maintain IT infrastructure to ensure security, stability and compatibility to business requirements and standards for various offices in Asia (HK, China, Korea and other countries)
• Provide on-time application supports to fast expanding business on applications, including but not limited to ERP system, Outlook, and Office 365 for fast expanding operations
• Take ownership to liaise with global IT teams and vendors, to perform troubleshoot and diagnostic for resolving more complex system issues
• Enforce and implement global IT standards, policies and procedures while assisting in local compliance and regulations for encryption, security and communications
• Follow best practices in system architecture, security, disaster recovery, written protocols
• Provide training, guidance and manuals to end users
• Regional IT compliance, process improvements & controls implementation
• Vendors evaluation, consolidation, benchmarking and procurement management
• Provider leadership in managing (1 person) and developing the Asian IT functions
• Prepare and manage budgets and other resources of the MIS section
  
  
  

Education and Experience

• Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
• Familiar with Oracle ERP environment or related environment
• 5-7 year experience IT system implementation, business analysis or project management
• Language Competencies – English, Mandarin and Cantonese
• Must demonstrate high proficient in the following areas
  
  • ERP system support and familiarity with business intelligence reporting
  • Microsoft Active Directory, Domain Controllers, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy
  • Windows server and desktop operating systems
  • Microsoft Office 365 and cloud platforms
  • Networking skills - Cisco networking IP addressing, VLANs, Wifi, firewalls and IP telephony, LAN, WAN communications and optimization
  • VMware virtualization
  • Server, computer, printers, scanner, faxing hardware
• Good interpersonal, communication skill and presentation skill
• Ability to work independently and pro-actively in a dynamic environment; feel comfortable in sometimes ambiguous environment.
• Knowledge and experience in supporting commercial projects is a MUST; experience in healthcare industry is an advantage
• Less experienced candidate would be considered as Assistant IT manager
