We are looking for a Childrenswear Fabric Technologist to join our Quality team to cope with team expansion. This candidate will be responsible for ensuring the consistency of fabric quality and colour across different products and directly work with mills and factories.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fabric quality and colour consistency across different suppliers for all products
• Conduct mill visit and evaluation to identify mill’s capability. Ensure proper quality assurance process is implemented and work out with follow up improvement plan with mill
• Investigate the root cause in quality failures by inline or pilot inspection with factories, fabric mills, laboratories, chemical suppliers etc. and offer assistance for the determination and implementation of corrective action plan
• Carry out risk assessment to identify high risk products during development stage and ensure fabric quality approval before confirming orders
• Obtain and verify detail materials and production information throughout the production process from suppliers
• Approval of bulk fabric colours, setup shade band and conduct technical review and approval on bulk issues
• Review and make approval on 3rd party lab test reports
• Participate in weekly meeting with stakeholders to provide updates of on-going issues and take the lead for the induction meeting with new suppliers
• Maintain and update logbook

Requirements

• Degree or above in Textile Chemistry / Textile Technology  or relevant disciplines
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience with experience in handling childrenswear is a must
• Pass the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test with superior class
• Familiar with international physical and chemical testing methods of softline products
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin)
• Strong interpersonal / communication skill and be a good team player
