Main tasks (primary responsibilities) of the position area:

• Support Sales force  with all technical aspects of the sales process
• Coordinate demonstrations and  installations with customer and sales
• Conduct presentations on all technologies and products
• Conduct software and hardware demonstrations at customer sites, tradeshows and scientific meetings
• Collect  and provide market information to sales team
• Organize seminar and provide  training for customers and sales
• Take a pro-active role in post demo/post sale follow up activities
• Maintain current knowledge base of all updates to applications and automation
• Maintain customer relationships and  pre- and post-sales technical support for the technology and platform.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of customer applications
• Conduct customer sample evaluations
• Provide field technical support and troubleshooting when necessary
• Sell the QIAGEN portfolio through demonstration
• Provide feedback to sales on activities impacting current and future sales
• Maintain current knowledge base of competitor products
• Provide liaison between applications lab, marketing and sales

Position area requirements, qualifications, and experiences:

• Master degree or PhD in Biosciences or related disciplines
• 2 years plus relevant experience in application support (clinical and molecular diagnostics preferable)
• Strong molecular biology  background with hands-on wet lab experience
• Well-organized, independent, initiative and a good team player
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are essential
• Good command of Cantonese, English and Mandarin
• Travel to China is required
