Job Description

A global leader in manufacturing of industrial equipment.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • To achieve annual sales target in China by following the sales policy and margin requirements, other markets to be assigned whenever necessary.
  • To locate, develop and manage distribution channels.
  • To provide technical support & product training to customers and distribution channels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • To be stationed in Shanghai.
  • Be responsible for full channel profitability and manage profitable growth.
  • Arrange direct sales call to major customers, consulting engineers, large consumer accounts and other sales prospects to maximize sales growth in the assigned markets, and achieve sales qualifier objectives and goals. This includes cold call and the ability to identify new additional accounts proactively, project generation and sales closure. Review regularly with General Manager.
  • To locate and expand distribution networks in various markets in Greater China. It includes the ability to segment distributors to focus on different markets as well.
  • Be able to formulate programs to attract distributors in the industry as well as from the competition.
  • Must have a clear strategic mindset to guide, motivate and develop distribution channels to sell the products.
  • Research and reports on acceptance of company products in the field, recommends modifications to old products and the development of new products based on field observations and able to collect and report market intelligence to help in new product decision.
  • Find out and reports on who are the competitions encountered in the respective markets. Provide technical and price performance comparison to better understand our competitiveness.
  • Has sense of urgency to accomplish organizational objectives and sales targets.
  • Utilize company product samples and feature, function, benefit data during sales calls and other presentations to existing customers, individuals or groups. Develop sales tools, such as catalogues, whenever necessary and helpful. Handles customer complaints cautiously.
  • Regularly report on activities, effective weekly call schedule, proper follow up, and lead generation for the company in his responsible markets. Establish good contact with decision makers, Maintain customer and distributor loyalty.
  • Together with the General Manager, sets and monitors sales objectives to achieve corporate product qualifier goals.
  • Demonstrates value-added service to the customer. Customers recognize value-added to them.
  • Communicates success (i.e. new products, procedures, markets, etc…) with fellow employees and management to ensure success for the entire organization.
  • Takes a lead with the organizing of Trade Shows together with the GM. Be present at shows and manning the stand.
  • Initiate customer mail outs during the year to inform on new product as well as potential products.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • It requires technical understanding of products and their applications, and be able to convey the benefits to others.
  • Prior success in developing distributors and influence end-user in Greater China is essential.
  • Technical degree in engineering or business development with at least five years successful field sales record is preferred.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English is a must.
