Job Description

Role & Primary Responsibilities:

 

This job has two main roles: 

  • To manage and coordinate the establishment of new client accounts and manage existing client accounts, and
  • To manage the Operations Client Relationship Management program for the Asia Pacific region. 

ITG is an agency only broker that deals only with Professional Investors and Wholesale Clients and specializes in electronic broking services to its clients.  Therefore, the candidate must have:

  • an employment background in multijurisdictional institutional broking (not primarily in retail broking);
  • experience in a client servicing role;
  • an extensive knowledge of electronic trading and the general manner in which these systems work in different markets in Asia Pacific;
  • general knowledge of client on-boarding requirements and processes within the financial services sector; and
  • general knowledge of execution management systems and order management systems and the manner in which they interact with electronic trading systems and the connectivity of those systems. 

ITG understands that each broker has different execution management systems, electronic trading systems and connectivity, therefore, the candidate will not have specific knowledge of ITG’s systems, however, having experience in these areas in the industry is a pre-requisite to the role.

 

Client On-Boarding

Project manages the establishment of new client accounts and manages existing client accounts including, but not limited to:

  1. Liaising with clients and clients’ Trading and Compliance Teams with a view to setting up new client accounts and managing existing clients accounts
    • This function involves contact with the client; requesting documents from clients, following up with clients on documentation, discussing connectivity requirements with clients, serving as a conduit between Legal and Compliance in respect of negotiations on contracts and agreements with the client. 
  2. KYC/AML requirements
    • This function involves co-coordinating the collection of KYC/AML documentation from the client.  The candidate will not be required to assess each client for KYC/AML aspects as this will be conducted by the Compliance Team. 
  3. Legal agreements (TOB’s, Product Agreements etc)
    • This function involves serving as a conduit between Legal and the client (where preferred) in respect of contract and agreement negotiations (eg. Terms of Business, Product Agreements, etc.).  The candidate will not be required to have a legal background and/or knowledge as this work shall be undertaken by the Legal Team.
  4. Operational requirements
    • This function involves coordinating the collection of the client’s post trade operational requirements, including specifics to ensure seamless allocation and settlement processes.
  5. Client connectivity
    • This function involves the collection of technical connectivity requirements from the client and serves as the conduit between Technology and the client to achieve smooth technical implementation.

 

Operations Client Relationship Management

The candidate would be required to have a strong understanding of Equities Operations processes and related post-trade performance analysis.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Manage Operations Client Relationships for Priority clients
    • In conjunction with the wider Relationship Management Programme , work to identify ITG Asia Pacific's top clients and implement an improved Client Service plan for these clients.  This includes 'value-add' services and Client/Broker review meetings.  
  2. Manage and co-ordinate process reviews and improvements for Operations
    • This includes the development of plans and procedures, working with the APAC Operations team to execute   resulting plans and practices.
  3. Manage the collation and analysis of Ops MI data
    • This involves utilizing internal and external analytics to review client post-trade performance, as well as reviewing opportunities for internal process improvement.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in local and overseas equity markets settlement, client on-boarding and/or operations client relationship management
  • Excellent organizational, project management and leadership skills
  • Passion, aggressive and a good team-player
  • Work effectively within a fast pace business environment
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
