Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop urban design concepts, communicate design concepts through the development of 3D models and other computer graphics, and develop and deliver graphically-compelling reports and presentations to clients.
  2. Be responsible for the production drawings and coordination of concept design, schematic design, and detail design documents.
  3. Lead a project team effectively and proactively under the guidance of the person in charge, and coordinate with other consultants/engineering disciplines or be a part of that team sharing that responsibility.
  4. Show commitment to raising Atkins design standards.
  5. Report to team management on a regular basis regarding drawing design development issues, design queries, and design coordination issues.
  6. Report to the person in charge for all production work and to aim for excellence in design quality and documentation, and match or better Atkins QA standards.
  7. Be responsible for the correctness and accuracy of your drawing work, quality, layout and notes by your own and your team’s work, before review by the project lead, as well as the coordination of drawings amongst the team and other disciplines.
  8. Alert the project leadership when elements of the design or details are not working and offer solutions to these.
  9. Participate in business development by preparing scopes and budgets, proposals, and presentations.
  10. Conduct yourself professionally at all times.
  11. Keep abreast of the latest software enhancements to increase productivity and/or design quality, and to share this knowledge with your colleagues.
  12. Actively strive to improve your skills in design by looking for opportunities to further prove yourself whenever you see such opportunities arise.

Qualification/Requirements

  1. Completion of a five-year or six-year architectural degree program and graduate of one-two year urban design / planning program with more than 3 years post graduate experience.
  2. Working knowledge of standard regulations and best practice principles.
  3. Experience on large-scale township and industrial and/or leisure/tourism masterplanning projects.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of Revit is a plus.
  5. Ability to travel periodically to client/project locations.
  6. Ability to market the skills of the integrated urban strategies practice.
  7. Ability to clearly describe planning concepts with words and images.
  8. Experience in both the public and private sector preferred.
  9. Strong writing and communication skills.
  10. Knowledge of South East Asia is a plus.
