PROXOR - Authentic Examinationᵀᴹ - a Spinoff of Carnegie Mellon University and a Subsidiary of XUP Ltd

Proxor Ltd has taken on the challenge to provide assessment ratings of software development skills, particularly in Java, C, and FED. Proxor - Authentic Examinationᵀᴹ uses technology and methodology developed in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and funded by USD2.9Million from World Bank. Created and designed by CMU doctorates in Computer Science, Proxor is the industry leader in the rating and certification of software developers. A 2010 Wall Street Journal poll of recruiters for graduate hires ranked CMU as #1 in Computer Science.

The examination is efficient, effective, scalable, automated, and secure. Accordingly, major users such as large employers of in-house developers, universities and IT societies, and examination facilitating organisations will be able to effectively hire, educate and progress the skills of software developers. The methodology tests and rates skills rather than just knowledge. Although what people know is important, what counts in the workplace is what they can do. In 2014 Linkedin/PWC estimated USD130Bn of lost productivity due to inability to match the right talent with the right opportunity.

Since software drives innovation across virtually every industry, accurately assessing software skills is crucial in today’s economy. Industry sources estimated 18.5M of Software Developers in 2014, with a projected growth of 45% to 2019. Since people create software, the better the people, the better the products and the business volume generated.

By end-2016, Proxor has signed client agreements with institutions and distributors for testing/rating in over 20 cities/countries. Proxor was acquired by XUP Ltd in Nov 2016 and now backed by funding in from USA and Asia. Whilst headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Proxor has operating offices in Hong Kong and USA.
