Upscaling Operations Ltd, or UPSOP, is a multi-disciplinary design practice aims to reuse and redefine mundane urban objects, materials and space. The practice has a strong focus on material, mobility and detailing. The digital fabrication oriented practice received 5 international awards with their upcycling projects, including the prestige American Institute of Architects Merit Award and Sustainable Design Award. UPSOP was founded by Dennis Cheung and Nick Gu in 2015 in Hong Kong and was joined by Bumjin Kim in 2016. They were trained in Harvard Graduate School of Design and MIT Architecture.
